Ethereum DeFi TVL Snapshot Shows Dollar Value, Not Ether Flows

The Oct. 31 reading put TVL at $43.997 billion and Ether at $2,253, but its snapshot time was not specified.

Ethereum’s $43.997 billion DeFi total value locked reading for Oct. 31 measures the dollar value of assets, but it does not by itself show whether Ether moved out of contracts.

Converting dollar-denominated TVL into Ether terms uses Ether’s price to express a dollar amount in ETH. That produces an equivalent value, not a count of coins held in contracts or a record of transfers from them. The historical TVL measure also excludes liquid staking and double-counted value.

The Oct. 31 reading did not specify an observation time or time zone, so it cannot be precisely matched with a later market quote.

TokenPost previously covered broader DeFi TVL changes in its earlier report.
