Brent crude fell below $112 as investors weighed attacks on merchant ships around the Strait of Hormuz against the possibility that diplomacy could resolve the conflict with Iran.

The move came ahead of the Nov. 3 U.S. midterms. TokenPost previously covered an earlier crude pullback after oil reached a near six-month high in an earlier oil-market update.
