Ether (ETH) fell 16.1% in October, ending three straight months of gains and reversing September’s 8.77% rise as the asset moved into November after a losing month.

ETH had gained in July, August and September. Its September increase was the asset’s second strongest for that month since 2016.

Before the latest decline, Ether had finished higher in six of the previous 10 Octobers. That record provides historical context for October, but the completed month ended the recent run of gains.

ETH traded at $2,287.15 as of 3:19 a.m. ET (08:19 UTC) Monday, up 0.89% over the previous 24 hours. The 24-hour change covers a period extending into November; the 16.1% decline covers October as a whole.
