Bitcoin's 30-Day Active Address Average Falls 43% From 2024 Peak
Daily transfer volume averaged about 819,000 BTC over the 30 days through Nov. 1, down about 5% from its Dec. 10, 2024, level.

Bitcoin (BTC) recorded a 43% drop in its 30-day average of active addresses from a December 2024 peak through Nov. 1, while transfer volume fell much less sharply, showing a split in network activity.
The address measure averaged about 629,000 a day over the 30 days through Nov. 1, compared with roughly 1.1 million at the December 2024 peak. It slipped another 1% over the past week and stood about 10% below its yearly average of 702,000.
The 30-day average of daily transfers stood near 819,000 BTC, down from about 865,000 BTC on Dec. 10, 2024. That is a decline of about 5% based on the rounded figures. The latest reading remained about 5.5% above its yearly average of 776,000 BTC.
The two measures track different activity: one counts active addresses, while the other measures the amount of BTC transferred. Address activity has fallen much further from its late-2024 level than transfer volume has from its Dec. 10, 2024, level.
In 2018, the active-address measure fell about 50%, from roughly 1.1 million to 547,000, over approximately three months. The latest decline has unfolded over nearly two years. Both address activity and transfer volume fell during the past week.
