A Bitcoin (BTC) wallet inactive for more than six years transferred its entire balance of 999.953 BTC on Monday, Nov. 2, in a movement valued at about $78.12 million.

The address sent its full reported balance, ending more than six years without movement. The coins had entered the wallet more than six years earlier, when Bitcoin traded near $10,727 per coin.

The $78.12 million figure values the BTC at the time it moved; it is not a confirmed sale amount. A blockchain transfer records coins moving between addresses, but does not establish that a trade took place. The wallet owner and receiving address were not identified.

The BTC left the dormant wallet, but the transaction does not establish what happened to the coins afterward or why the holder moved them.
