ChartNerd Says XRP May Revisit Historical Demand Zone Against Bitcoin (BTC)
The analyst points to three earlier periods when XRP returned to a lower range before gaining strength against Bitcoin.

Analyst ChartNerd argues that XRP may need to return to a lower historical range against Bitcoin (BTC) before regaining relative strength, citing three earlier periods as support for that view.
ChartNerd’s chart overlays XRP/BTC on a monthly XRP/USD chart and marks a demand zone near the bottom of the pair’s range. The setup places XRP’s performance against BTC alongside its dollar-price history. Its central claim is about sequence: previous returns to the marked area came before periods when XRP gained ground against Bitcoin.
That distinction is central to the analysis. A return to the zone would concern XRP/BTC, while XRP/USD shows the token’s price in dollars. The chart’s past examples link those views, but do not show that every visit to the area must lead to the same outcome.
The first example spans April through July 2014. XRP/USD bottomed around June, then formed a higher low before the 2017-18 rally. ChartNerd uses that sequence as an early case in which a low in the dollar-price chart preceded a later period of strength against Bitcoin.
A second example runs from October 2020 into January 2021. XRP had already established its price low before its performance against BTC improved. Bitcoin later reached a new all-time high while XRP did not, but XRP then staged a catch-up rally. The episode illustrates the relative-performance point in ChartNerd’s argument: XRP’s progress against Bitcoin did not have to coincide with Bitcoin’s own record high.
ChartNerd identifies another return to the zone between April and October 2024. That period came before XRP advanced toward its July 2025 peak of $3.65. The price peak is an endpoint in the historical comparison; it does not, by itself, set a target for another move.
The analyst also points to a resistance level that has turned XRP/BTC back several times since 2020, including around the 2021 and 2025 highs. The pair has continued to produce lower highs. In ChartNerd’s reading, that pattern leaves a return to the lower range as a condition for renewed outperformance, rather than showing that XRP has already broken into a sustained period of strength against Bitcoin.
ChartNerd places the pattern against XRP’s longer record relative to BTC. He says XRP underperformed Bitcoin for at least eight years, as Bitcoin set successive records before XRP moved above its 2018 peak. That history informs his view that XRP’s strongest periods may arrive later in Bitcoin’s cycle.
The cycle argument is conditional. If the market is emerging from a bear phase, ChartNerd says capital may move into Bitcoin first, with XRP’s strongest inflows coming later in the cycle. Under that scenario, XRP could remain weak against BTC before attracting stronger flows. The chart examples support his comparison of past periods; they do not establish when another return to the zone might occur.
