Major U.S. stock indexes moved in different directions Monday, Nov. 2, as investors looked toward a week of corporate earnings, U.S. midterm election results and labor market data.

Apple and Palantir were among the companies whose earnings investors were watching. Election results and labor market releases were also expected this week.
