Amazon shares rose 2.44% to $246.22 at 3:54 p.m. ET (20:54 UTC) Monday, Nov. 2, putting the intraday price above its 200-session exponential moving average (EMA) but below its shorter-term averages. The quote was up from the $240.35 close on Friday, Oct. 30.
At the 3:54 p.m. reading, the stock was below its 20-session EMA of $251.59 and its 50-session EMA of $253.22, while above its 200-session EMA of $245.66. The shares ranged from $242.36 to $253.80 during the session, after opening at $243.08. The $246.22 figure is an intraday observation, not the final closing price.
Amazon’s latest earnings paired sales growth with a reversal in cash flow. In the quarter ended Sept. 30, net sales increased 12% year over year to $201.9 billion, while Amazon Web Services sales rose 39.3% to $45.984 billion. Amazon’s third-quarter earnings and cash-flow results also showed a trailing 12-month free-cash-flow outflow of $42.357 billion through Sept. 30, compared with an inflow of $14.788 billion in the year-earlier period.
The cash-flow measure covers the 12 months through Sept. 30, rather than only the third quarter. Amazon said the main cause was a $94.8 billion year-over-year rise in net spending on property and equipment.
Amazon continued to expect about $220 billion in cash capital expenditures in 2026. It forecast fourth-quarter sales of $240 billion to $247 billion, setting out its spending and revenue outlook alongside the reported AWS growth.
