Muted Bitcoin price leaves exchange hack fallout unclear for two to three weeks
Tim Grant cautioned that Bitcoin’s muted response to the Binance hack does not establish that the damage has been absorbed. He said the next two to three weeks could reveal further fallout.

Bitcoin’s muted response to a major exchange hack offers little assurance that the market has absorbed the damage, according to Tim Grant. He said the next two to three weeks could reveal consequences that have yet to register in prices.
Speaking in a discussion on CoinDesk’s X account on November 2, Grant, identified as a TensorX AI representative, cautioned against treating Bitcoin’s price as evidence that the fallout from the Binance hack had passed.
Grant described the calm surrounding such a significant breach at the world’s largest crypto exchange as unsettling. Market reactions to previous hacks had sometimes emerged with a delay, he said, leaving grounds for caution despite the limited immediate response.
He said he did not consider the episode over and was watching for what would follow. Drawing on those past delayed reactions, Grant identified the coming two to three weeks as a period for assessing the hack’s wider market effects.
