Currency strategists largely maintained their one-year bearish outlook on the U.S. dollar, while recent outperformance raised concern that the currency could stay stronger than expected for longer.

The latest foreign-exchange survey showed little change in strategists’ overall forecasts from early October. Respondents broadly saw a growing risk that the dollar would outperform their expectations, and more analysts were alert to the possibility of strength lasting longer.

Resilient U.S. growth and inflation make it harder for the Federal Reserve to move quickly toward lower interest rates. Geopolitical risks and capital flows also continue to influence the dollar.
