South Korea’s KOSPI opened 2.43% higher on Nov. 4, while SK Hynix shares rose 4.8%, giving the company a larger opening gain than the benchmark. Samsung Electronics also advanced, rising 3.6% at the open.

SK Hynix posted the biggest increase among the three reported readings. Samsung’s gain was smaller than SK Hynix’s but still exceeded the KOSPI’s advance. All three figures point to a positive start for South Korean equities, with the two company moves outpacing the index in the opening snapshot.

The readings capture the market and the two named stocks at the start of trading. They show that SK Hynix led Samsung Electronics and the KOSPI, while Samsung also rose more than the benchmark. The figures distinguish the size of each opening move: the index rose, and both company shares posted larger gains.

At the Nov. 4 open, the reported moves were 2.43% for the KOSPI, 4.8% for SK Hynix and 3.6% for Samsung Electronics.
