Cboe Volatility Index Falls Below 19 After U.S. Midterm Elections
The VIX estimates expected S&P 500 swings over 30 days.

The Cboe Volatility Index fell below 19 Wednesday after the U.S. midterms.
The VIX uses S&P 500 options prices to estimate how much the index is expected to swing over the next 30 days. It measures expected stock market volatility, not Bitcoin’s.
The VIX had climbed to around 20 in the week ended Oct. 16 as demand for hedges against S&P 500 losses increased. Its move below 19 marks a reversal from that mid-October level.
