7,500 Bitcoin That Left Binance’s SAFU Fund Moves Again to an Unlabeled Address
The recipient split the Bitcoin into 150 outputs, and 96 later formed part of a 9,346-BTC transfer.

An unlabeled address received 7,500 Bitcoin (BTC) on Tuesday, Nov. 3, from an intermediate address, extending the movement of coins Binance transferred from its Secure Asset Fund for Users (SAFU) on Saturday, Oct. 31.
The transfer came on Nov. 3, after the Oct. 31 transfer. At 12:56 a.m. ET (05:56 UTC), the intermediate address sent all 7,500 BTC in one transaction to the unlabeled destination. That address had handled more than 2,400 transactions.
At 1:46 a.m. ET (06:46 UTC), the receiving address divided the Bitcoin into 150 outputs of about 50 BTC each. At 9:53 a.m. ET (14:53 UTC), 96 of those outputs, totaling 4,800 BTC, fed into a separate 9,346-BTC transaction to another address. The other 54 outputs went into separate transactions that day.
SAFU held just over 7,500 BTC at 3:53 p.m. ET (20:53 UTC) on Nov. 3. At 3:40 p.m. ET (20:40 UTC), Bitcoin was priced at $77,798, putting the fund’s balance at about $583 million.
The balance was roughly half the 15,000 BTC SAFU held after deposits in February. Binance’s Oct. 31 SAFU transfer was part of its effort to cover losses from a roughly $6.3 billion hot-wallet hack, the exchange said. Binance has committed to restoring SAFU to about $1 billion but has not given a timetable.
