Franklin Templeton Australia fixed-income chief 安德鲁·卡诺比 said the initial response to the U.S. midterm elections showed a modest move from stocks to bonds, pointing to a more defensive stance among investors.

He said markets may view Democratic control of Congress, if it occurs, as a constraint on President Trump’s growth agenda, particularly in artificial intelligence and resources.

Separately, Australia’s three-year government bond yield has fallen 15 basis points since the start of the week. Traders are weighing whether the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) is nearing the end of its rate increases.
