The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index fell 5% as Intel shares dropped more than 5%, extending a market selloff across major chipmakers in the U.S. semiconductor sector. The index’s decline came alongside losses in several individual chip stocks, showing weakness across both the benchmark and prominent companies.

Marvell Technology Group dropped more than 9%, while Micron Technology fell more than 6%. Nvidia and Broadcom each lost more than 2%. The reported percentages are thresholds rather than exact declines, so they do not give precise point-by-point comparisons among the stocks. The figures show losses in the index and all five named companies.

The index figure and company figures describe separate market measures. A 5% decline in the index does not mean each named stock fell by 5%. The update lists different minimum loss thresholds for Intel, Marvell, Micron, Nvidia and Broadcom, showing a sector-wide decline alongside losses among the individual companies.
