Evercore named five technology companies as defensive picks after Democrats took control of the House, saying tighter data center rules could slow development, weaken AI infrastructure sentiment and intensify compute supply constraints.

The list includes Amphenol, Arista Networks, Apple, Cisco and Motorola Solutions. Evercore said tighter regulation could also temper memory demand, while developers and cloud companies with existing capacity could benefit if compute shortages worsen.

The firm’s rationale spanned AI exposure and networking growth, resilient iPhone and Services earnings, campus and optics tailwinds, and public safety businesses it characterized as mission-critical with new growth opportunities.

Apple also appeared among the companies named in TokenPost’s weekly analyst picks.
