South Korea’s KOSPI Sinks 6% as SK Hynix Shares Drop More Than 10%
Samsung Electronics shares also fell more than 8%, with all three moves captured intraday at 12:57 a.m. ET.

South Korea’s KOSPI index fell 6% intraday as SK Hynix shares dropped more than 10%, while Samsung Electronics shares declined more than 8% in the same market snapshot.
At 12:57 a.m. ET Thursday (05:57 UTC), all three readings showed losses: the KOSPI was down 6%, SK Hynix was off more than 10%, and Samsung Electronics was lower by more than 8%. SK Hynix’s decline was the largest of the three moves, exceeding the index’s 6% loss by more than four percentage points. Samsung’s decline was also steeper than the KOSPI’s, but smaller than SK Hynix’s. The figures capture an intraday point in trading rather than closing performance.
The KOSPI is an index, while SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics are individual stocks, so the figures describe three separate market measures. The index was down 6%; SK Hynix had the steepest decline of the two stocks, with Samsung also down more than 8%. All three numbers are intraday readings from the same trading session.
