Crypto Liquidations Reach $305 Million in One Hour, Led by Longs
Long positions made up $287 million of the total. Bitcoin and Ether liquidations reached $89.01 million and $43.80 million, respectively.

Crypto markets recorded about $305 million in liquidations during the hour ending at 10:04 a.m. ET (15:04 UTC) Thursday, with long positions accounting for nearly all of the total.
Long liquidations reached $287 million, while shorts totaled $17.52 million; the amounts sum to $304.52 million, consistent with the rounded market-wide figure. The long-side amount was more than 16 times the short-side figure. Long positions generally gain when prices rise, while short positions generally gain when prices fall.
Bitcoin (BTC) liquidations were $89.01 million and Ether (ETH) liquidations were $43.80 million in the same window. Bitcoin represented about 29% of the market-wide total, Ether about 14%, and the two together about 44%. Subtracting those two amounts from the rounded total leaves roughly $172 million in liquidations across other assets.
The tally captures one hour of forced position closures and shows that most of the reported amount came from the long side.
