Micron Technology shares closed down more than 17% Thursday as a broad retreat in semiconductor and storage stocks added to pressure across the U.S. chip sector.

The stock ended at $656.39, down $138.84 from its previous close. Those figures imply a previous close of $795.23 and a decline of about 17.46%. Micron makes memory and storage products, including DRAM, NAND and high-bandwidth memory.

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) also fell by a similar amount. ALAB declined nearly 20%, while Nvidia lost just over 9%, extending losses across the chip group.

The decline came amid a broader U.S. storage-sector selloff, with SanDisk shares falling 17.09% on Nov. 5.
