An unidentified onchain trader holding the largest onchain short position saw its one-day profit peak at $9.04 million Thursday as U.S. stocks fell; it had also been shorting U.S. technology stocks.

The $9.04 million figure was a peak one-day profit, not a confirmed realized gain. Cumulative profit across the trader’s full trading period reached $18.64 million.

The trader had maintained U.S. technology stock shorts through the prior week after its positioning caught Google’s decline. On Friday, it reduced its CHIP short and added to a long position in SK hynix during the preceding hour.
