Bitget confirmed Nov. 5 that it had raised instrument leverage to 2,000x across 21 forex contracts for difference (CFD) pairs, after scheduling the change for Nov. 1; temporary 200x caps will apply around economic releases.

The planned Nov. 1 change was later confirmed by Bitget. The pairs include EURUSD, USDJPY, GBPUSD and AUDUSD. Margin rates apply progressively by exposure: 0.05% on the first 50,000 USDT, 0.20% up to 10 million USDT, 0.30% up to 25 million, 1% up to 50 million, 2% up to 100 million and 5% above 100 million. Each rate applies only to its exposure tier.

Account settings list user-selected caps from 2x through 800x, and positions use the lower of the account cap or instrument limit. Contracts for difference provide price exposure without exchanging or holding the underlying currencies. An account may face liquidation when its margin ratio drops below the required maintenance margin.

Bitget will temporarily reduce forex leverage to 200x from 15 minutes before each listed release until five minutes afterward. The schedule includes 8:15 a.m. ET (13:15 UTC) and 8:30 a.m. ET (13:30 UTC) Tuesday, Nov. 10, plus 8:30 a.m. ET (13:30 UTC) Thursday, Nov. 12, and Friday, Nov. 13.
