Litecoin’s Nov. 5 post about XRP drew criticism from supporters who challenged the asset’s market standing and questioned its practical use, renewing a public exchange between the two crypto communities.

On X, Litecoin’s account joked that it had learned it could no longer use an offensive term when referring to XRP. One supporter criticized Litecoin’s performance against other established cryptocurrencies and argued that Zcash (ZEC) had moved ahead. Another questioned Litecoin’s real-world use.

Litecoin had taken aim at XRP before. In August 2025, its account published a sarcastic post about XRP’s ambitions in banking, mocked Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse with a play on his surname and questioned the value of XRP’s banking-related use cases.
