XRP Today | Official claimed Wednesday, Nov. 4, that the count of XRP Ledger accounts holding more than 10 million XRP rose 24% this quarter, but gave no figures or method to establish the change.

The post omitted starting and ending account totals, exact dates for “this quarter,” a data provider and calculation details. It therefore does not show how the 24% change was measured.

An XRP Ledger account is an address with an XRP balance, not a verified individual holder. Exchanges may pool customers’ XRP in shared accounts, while one entity may use multiple addresses. A change in qualifying account counts alone cannot show how many individual holders there are or whether they bought more XRP.
