The U.S. unemployment rate fell to 4.1% in October, below a 4.2% forecast, giving investors another labor-market figure to weigh as they assess Federal Reserve policy expectations and risk appetite across crypto markets.

The rate had previously stood at 4.2%, so October's figure was 0.1 percentage point lower than the prior reading and 0.1 point below the expected level. The difference between the reported rate and forecast was narrow, but October's result came in below expectations.

Historical readings also recorded a 4.1% rate in September and December 2024, June 2025 and July 2026. That puts the October figure alongside several earlier months with the same unemployment rate, while the previous reading was 4.2%.

Labor-market figures can shape expectations for Federal Reserve policy, and those expectations can influence risk appetite in markets, including crypto. The lower-than-expected October rate gives investors another data point to weigh as they assess the Fed's policy path. The unemployment figure alone does not specify the Fed's next move.
