Ether Falls About 5% to $2,120; Liquidations Reach $343 Million
A 5:40 p.m. ET price snapshot put Ether near $2,120; an earlier 24-hour tally showed $229 million in Bitcoin liquidations.

Ether (ETH) traded near $2,120 at 5:40 p.m. ET Sunday, down about 5% over 24 hours, while an earlier market snapshot showed $343 million in Ether liquidations during the prior day.
The 5:21 p.m. ET 24-hour tally, detailed in an earlier snapshot of the Sunday selloff, also included $229 million in Bitcoin liquidations. Ether's figure was $114 million higher and nearly 50% larger. The two assets together accounted for $572 million in the listed liquidation totals.
At 5:21 p.m. ET, Ether was priced at $2,132.80 after touching $2,063.29. The later $2,120 reading came 19 minutes after that snapshot but from a different price source, so the observations are not a like-for-like comparison.
The liquidation tally covers the 24 hours ending at 5:21 p.m. ET, while the $2,120 quote is from 5:40 p.m. ET. Ether made up the largest share of the liquidation wave, ahead of Bitcoin, but the figures establish timing rather than prove that liquidations caused the price decline. Both snapshots were recorded Sunday, Nov. 8.
