Donald Trump Jr. Says He “Orange-Pilled” Trump After De-Banking Experience

Donald Trump Jr. revealed at Bitcoin 2025 in Las Vegas that he and his brother Eric Trump introduced their father, President Donald Trump, to the benefits of bitcoin after their family and business faced widespread de-banking. Speaking with Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski, Trump Jr. shared that his initial skepticism of crypto stemmed from a real estate background rooted in hard assets. However, his perspective shifted after experiencing the vulnerabilities of the traditional financial system firsthand.

Trump Jr. explained that after the 2020 election, the Trump Organization encountered challenges including being de-banked and de-insured, which opened his eyes to the promise of decentralized finance. He and Eric Trump, who were directly handling legal and financial backlash, played a key role in convincing their father to reconsider his previous stance on bitcoin. In 2021, Donald Trump had called bitcoin a "scam," but has since pivoted to supporting crypto innovation.

Highlighting the irony, Trump Jr. joked about political rivals like Kamala Harris suddenly embracing bitcoin. “I’d pay my entire crypto wallet to hear Kamala explain blockchain,” he said, mocking her past verbal gaffes.

He emphasized that his father now sees crypto and the democratization of finance as priorities in his policy platform, second only to world peace. Despite criticism of the Trump family’s crypto ventures, including the TRUMP memecoin and World Liberty Financial, Don Jr. said the push for regulatory clarity under a new Trump administration would benefit the entire crypto industry.

With stablecoin legislation and broader crypto market regulations on the horizon, Trump Jr. predicted a bullish future for bitcoin, calling the current momentum a “perfect storm” for massive growth.
