Adam Back Sees Bitcoin Reaching $1.5 Million by 2030
The Blockstream founder and CEO points to institutional participation, spot Bitcoin ETFs, regulatory clarity, Bitcoin’s four-year cycle and fixed supply.

Adam Back, founder and CEO of Blockstream, has outlined a path for Bitcoin (BTC) to reach $1.5 million per coin by the end of 2030, citing institutional participation, spot exchange-traded funds and Bitcoin’s fixed supply.
The outlook includes potential milestones of $500,000 and $1 million during the current four-year cycle before the longer-term $1.5 million target. Bitcoin was trading at $87,290 on Sept. 23, bringing the $100,000 level back into focus.
The forecast also draws on Bitcoin’s historical market cycle. New peaks occurred in the fourth quarter of 2013, 2017, 2021 and 2025. The next halving is scheduled for 2028, with the cycle viewed as supporting the possibility of new highs between 2026 and 2030.
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs have widened access for institutional investors through brokerage accounts. Expanding regulatory clarity, crypto-friendly policies and broader institutional adoption are also part of the outlook.
The forecast places Bitcoin’s potential rise within a market framework shaped by institutional capital flows, the halving cycle and its fixed supply.
