Before her death, Chuang alleged that she had been pressured to continue working during a medical emergency and threatened with industry blacklisting if she left before completing an event. She rejected a settlement offer from Hack VC and had planned to release evidence related to her time at the firm on Aug. 26.
Hack VC said it was aware of the allegations and concerned about Chuang’s health, while maintaining that its understanding of the events differed significantly from her public statements. The firm cited privacy concerns in declining to discuss details.
