Hunter Biden Says LAPTOP Uses Opposite Tokenomics to Trump Memecoins

Biden said insiders hold 30% of LAPTOP’s supply and the community receives half, while blockchain data showed one related wallet sent 17.5 million tokens to a burn address.

Hunter Biden said LAPTOP was designed to contrast with Trump family memecoins, highlighting its distribution structure as the token faces scrutiny after an extreme launch-day price move.

Biden said insiders control 30% of LAPTOP’s supply, compared with what he described as 80% for Trump tokens. He also said half of LAPTOP’s supply was allocated to the community.

“Look at the blockchain,” Biden said while responding to claims that LAPTOP was a scam. He said no money had moved from the foundation to insiders.

Biden also said the project’s founder tokens “have never moved and are not going to move.” Blockchain data showed one of two wallets tied to LAPTOP’s related allocations sent 17.5 million tokens, or 1.75% of the supply, to a burn address. The other wallet had not moved any tokens.

LAPTOP launched on Base on Sept. 9 with a total supply of 1 billion tokens. The founder allocation remains locked for six months, followed by monthly vesting over the next two years, terms Biden previously disclosed while defending LAPTOP’s team wallets.

Biden attributed the launch-day spike to a market maker that seeded the launch pool with about 29,000 tokens instead of 5 million. He said LAPTOP moved from a $50 million fully diluted valuation to a $317 billion market capitalization within one minute, calling the higher figure “pure fiction.”

He said he accepted responsibility for the launch regardless of whether the error was the market maker’s fault. Biden added that he should have explained LAPTOP’s structure more clearly before launch, rather than spending substantial time learning about the community and the technology.
