Trump Names Trump Media Advisor Katie Zacharia as Press Secretary
Zacharia starts Oct. 12 and will hold her first White House briefing the following morning.

President Donald Trump named Katie Zacharia as the next White House press secretary Sunday.
Zacharia will begin the role Monday, Oct. 12, and is scheduled to hold an introductory news conference Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 9:30 a.m. ET (13:30 UTC) in the White House press briefing room.
Zacharia has worked as a senior communications adviser for Trump Media since June. The company owns Truth Social, the president’s preferred social media platform.
She also serves as general counsel for Fix California, a conservative activist group founded by Richard Grenell. Zacharia previously spent two months as a spokeswoman for the Department of Homeland Security and has appeared on Fox News political programs and other conservative broadcasts.
Zacharia succeeds Karoline Leavitt, who left the administration in late August. Trump said Zacharia had supported him from the beginning and would perform well in the position.
