Bausch + Lomb Names Thomas J. Appio Interim CEO

Appio will continue leading parent company Bausch Health after taking over the role effective immediately.

Bausch + Lomb appointed Chairman Thomas J. Appio as interim chief executive officer effective immediately, adding leadership responsibilities while he continues to lead parent company Bausch Health.

Appio became chairman of Bausch + Lomb’s board in August 2026. He will oversee the eye-health company while retaining his leadership role at Bausch Health.

The appointment makes Appio responsible for both companies as Bausch + Lomb transitions its executive leadership.
