Bitmine Chairman Tom Lee said an estimated $1.5 trillion to $2 trillion in wealth could move between generations from 2026 through 2028, potentially increasing younger investors’ exposure to cryptocurrencies and other risk assets.

Lee said younger recipients of inherited wealth generally have a higher tolerance for risk. That could lead to larger allocations to cryptocurrencies, stocks and other assets with greater price volatility.

He also pointed to Wall Street’s growing use of blockchain technology for asset tokenization, the expansion of artificial intelligence applications and companies that hold cryptocurrencies on their balance sheets as potential drivers of future crypto market growth.

Bitmine Immersion Technologies bought 12,532 Ether (ETH) last week for about $32 million, increasing its holdings to 6,028,946 ETH. The position represents roughly 4.9% of Ethereum’s total supply.

The company remains about 76,000 ETH short of its 5% target. About 5.07 million ETH, or 84% of its holdings, has been staked, with the assets expected to generate about $336 million in annualized income based on the current yield.

Lee previously said Bitmine would stop accumulating ETH after reaching the 5% target. The strategy was previously detailed in TokenPost’s report on Bitmine’s holdings.
