The administration requested Kimberly Guilfoyle’s resignation from her post as U.S. ambassador to Greece, White House press secretary Katie Zacharia said Tuesday.

Press Secretary Katie Zacharia confirmed the request during her debut White House briefing Tuesday. “We have asked Ambassador Guilfoyle to resign,” Zacharia said. She added that Guilfoyle had been “a wonderful asset to the team” and that the administration wished her well.

Zacharia provided no further details about the request or Guilfoyle’s next steps.

Trump said Monday that the administration was reviewing whether to remove Guilfoyle when asked about her status. “Well, we’re looking at it,” Trump said, adding, “Yeah, we’re not happy.”

Guilfoyle, who previously was engaged to Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., became the U.S. ambassador to Greece in 2025. The White House’s request now puts her diplomatic tenure in question.
