Jeff Yan Aims to Bring the Financial Industry Onto Hyperliquid
The platform runs markets around the clock and operates outside the United States, where its path to compliant operations was also discussed.

Hyperliquid Labs CEO and co-founder Jeff Yan described bringing the financial industry onto the platform as his goal, while outlining its markets and requirements for U.S. operations.
Yan discussed the protocol he built with a co-founder, how traders buy and sell perpetual contracts, and the ecosystem of participants and assets tied to Hyperliquid. The conversation also covered what a blockchain oracle is and what the platform would need to do to conduct business in the United States.
Hyperliquid runs blockchain-based markets 24 hours a day. The platform drew attention this year after speculators used its markets to trade crude oil following the outbreak of war in Iran. Hyperliquid currently operates outside the United States.
On Aug. 19, President Donald Trump said CFTC Chair Michael S. Selig was working on a legal, fully compliant route for Hyperliquid to enter the United States.
