On Oct. 16, Mysten Labs President Kevin Boon accepted the CEO role after CEO Evan Cheng asked him to step in, while Cheng remains CTO.

Cheng will also lead a new business focused on agentic trust products and AI-native infrastructure.

Mysten Labs is also developing Verifiable Agent Arbiter with Google Cloud, a project announced Oct. 6. It is designed to log the authority given to an AI agent, the actions it takes and the resulting outcome. Detailed activity records are kept in customer-controlled Google Cloud Storage, while cryptographic proofs are stored on Walrus and verification is coordinated through Sui.

That gives organizations a record to compare an agent’s activity with the limits it was given. Potential uses include reconciling transactions between businesses and examining unusual actions by AI agents. Cheng said the project addresses the consequences of agent decisions: “AI agents are starting to make decisions with financial and legal consequences, and we need systems to ensure they cannot exceed their authority.”
