He recounted a Taiwan dinner with investors he had known for about a decade, saying he expected their venture investments to outperform Bitcoin.
Fundstrat CIO and portfolio manager Tom Lee said venture capital investors he met about a decade ago now wish they had bought Bitcoin (BTC), describing the cryptocurrency’s rise from below $1,000 to about $80,000 over that span.
Lee recounted the conversation at TOKEN2049, saying he recently had dinner with the investors in Taiwan. He first met them roughly 10 years ago, when he had begun researching Bitcoin.
Lee said he had expected their venture investments to earn more than Bitcoin. In his recollection, the investors described their returns as okay and said they wished they had bought BTC instead.
