Mark Nichols, co-president of digital assets at Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc., is scheduled to speak about tokenization at Link:NYC on Oct. 29 in New York. His expertise includes the operational changes involved in moving settlement and collateral on-chain.

Broadridge’s Distributed Ledger Repo platform processed $7.5 trillion in repo transactions in September, averaging $359 billion a day. In July, it processed $8 trillion, with a daily average of $365 billion. The figures measure transactions processed, not assets held on the platform.

The platform lets firms settle repo transactions using distributed ledger technology and transfer tokenized collateral between counterparties while keeping their existing trading and post-trade systems.

Broadridge’s DLX builds on its Distributed Ledger Repo platform and is designed to span issuance, trading, settlement, custody, governance and distribution of tokenized assets. Another Broadridge initiative is a July 20 partnership with Alpaca covering proxy voting and investor communications for tokenized equities. The partnership’s governance services address shareholder processes for supported tokenized equities.

Link:NYC lists institutional real-world assets, interoperability and financial market infrastructure among its themes. Nichols is scheduled to appear at the event on Oct. 29.
