Mark Chesterman, OANDA’s chief risk officer, has left the trading group after nearly seven years, marking a senior departure at a company that offers eligible U.S. customers spot cryptocurrency trading through Paxos.

Chesterman’s directorship at OANDA Europe Limited ended Sept. 30, 2026. OANDA Chief Technology Officer Michael Bird joined the European subsidiary’s board Oct. 1.

OANDA named Chesterman head of trading in November 2019. As chief risk officer in London, he oversaw OANDA’s global risk and quantitative research teams. He previously served as chief operating officer at Stater Global Markets.

The departure follows changes in OANDA’s ownership and leadership. FTMO completed its acquisition of the company on Dec. 1, 2025. FTMO founders Otakar Šuffner and Marek Vašíček became OANDA’s co-CEOs in March 2026, succeeding OANDA CEO Gavin Bambury.

OANDA offers eligible customers in the United States access to spot cryptocurrency trading. Paxos provides the exchange and custody services for that offering.
