Blockchain.com Co-CEO Lane Kasselman said institutional participation has become a driving force in crypto markets, while arguing that political support for the industry can persist through a change in congressional leadership.
Kasselman described crypto as having its strongest bipartisan support yet in Congress. He said the industry should maintain that momentum regardless of which party leads after the midterm elections, which are weeks away.
The CLARITY Act remains stalled. The discussion also covered the industry’s regulatory landscape, including SEC and CFTC rulemakings and state-by-state money transmitter licensing, as well as self-custody, tokenization and AI agents.
It also touched on Blockchain.com’s options trading launch, which offers call and put options on seven crypto assets to eligible users.
