Cami Clark’s Introduction Linked Eric Schmidt to Anthropic’s Early Funding
Schmidt joined Anthropic’s $124 million 2021 Series A, while his estimated 1% stake has not been confirmed by the company.

Cami Clark introduced Eric Schmidt to Anthropic co-founder Dario Amodei before the AI company existed, and Schmidt later joined a $124 million funding round that made him an early investor.
Clark dated Schmidt for three years starting in 2011. She began dating Amodei in 2014 and later married him. Schmidt visited them at home in 2018; Amodei co-founded Anthropic three years afterward.
Anthropic named Schmidt among the investors in its 2021 Series A. The company has not disclosed his individual investment amount or ownership percentage. His stake has been estimated at about 1%, but that figure is not a company-disclosed holding.
At a hypothetical $2 trillion valuation, a 1% stake would amount to $20 billion on paper. That calculation does not represent money Schmidt would receive from a sale. Earlier coverage of the $1.5 trillion IPO talks put the same estimated stake at about $15 billion on paper at that valuation.
Anthropic’s last announced private valuation was $965 billion after a May 2026 funding round. The valuation scenarios remain estimates, and the company has not disclosed Schmidt’s ownership percentage.
