Casa Chief Security Officer Jameson Lopp posted an item on X Thursday, Oct. 22, with a caption calling it “An open letter to the Bitcoin ecosystem.”

Separately, Lopp recommends a multisignature wallet for significant long-term Bitcoin (BTC) holdings. “For significant long-term holdings, we recommend a multisig wallet for your protection,” Lopp wrote.

A multisig wallet requires more than one key to authorize a Bitcoin transaction. Lopp’s security guidance also recommends placing keys on different devices or in different locations to limit dependence on one point of failure. It also recommends making an inheritance plan.
