Pavel Kashuba Discusses Why Crypto Checkout Does Not Ensure Use
His Sept. 9 Stablecon USA talk in Washington addressed why offering crypto at checkout does not necessarily lead customers to use it. Separate U.S. surveys measured merchant acceptance and use among crypto holders.

Pavel Kashuba, strategic leader at Coinspaid Solutions, spoke at Stablecon USA in Washington on Sept. 9 about why offering crypto at checkout does not necessarily lead customers to use it.
An online U.S. survey of 619 payment decision-makers, conducted Oct. 21-27, 2025, covered retail and e-commerce, hospitality and travel, luxury and specialty, and digital goods and gaming. Thirty-nine percent said their businesses accepted crypto at checkout. Among respondents at businesses that accepted it, crypto accounted for 26% of sales.
A separate U.S. survey of 10,000 crypto holders, conducted Feb. 12 to March 3, 2026, found that 40% used crypto for purchases. It measured crypto holders, not all U.S. consumers, so its results are not directly comparable with the merchant survey.
