Rep. Salazar Was Only of Seven House Members Reviewed to Report SpaceX Share Sale
Her report lists a partial sale valued at $1,001 to $15,000. She had disclosed two SpaceX purchases in August, each in the same range.

Of seven House members whose reports covered SPCX transactions, U.S. Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar was the only one to disclose a partial sale of Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (SpaceX) shares, valued at $1,001 to $15,000.
The report lists the transaction date as Sept. 24 and identifies the account as a UBS IRA. It lists Oct. 1 as the notification date and carries Salazar’s digital signature dated Oct. 7. The report does not give a transaction time or time zone.
Salazar’s earlier report listed two SpaceX purchases dated Aug. 12. One was in a UBS IRA and the other in a UBS brokerage account; each was valued at $1,001 to $15,000. That report was digitally signed Sept. 9. The other six members’ reports in the seven-member review listed purchases.
House transaction reports disclose value ranges rather than exact proceeds. Salazar’s report does not state how many shares she sold, the exact sale amount or the execution price. It also gives no reason for the transaction, and the records do not establish a connection to her official duties.
SpaceX priced its initial public offering at $135 per share on June 11, with trading under the ticker SPCX expected to begin June 12. The IPO announcement does not link the offering to Salazar’s later transaction.
For the quarter ended Sept. 30, SpaceX reported $14.575 billion in revenue, $4.4 billion in net income and $19.593 billion in capital expenditures. Those results provide company context but do not explain the sale.
