Google DeepMind Researcher Denies Founding RSI Startup

AI scientist 姚顺宇 responded Nov. 2 to unverified claims about a recursive self-improvement (RSI) venture, saying he remains on Google DeepMind’s staff and did not establish the company.

“I have not founded a company and am still an employee of Google DeepMind,” 姚顺宇 said. He added that he did not know where the false claim began.

姚顺宇 joined Anthropic in 2024 and joined Google DeepMind as a senior research scientist in September 2025. On Oct. 12, he also denied plans to raise money in China.
