Sharon Zhou Joins Anthropic After AMD AI Chief of Staff Role

Zhou joined AMD with Lamini colleagues in June 2025 and later reported directly to CEO Lisa Su.

Former Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) AI chief of staff Sharon Zhou has joined Anthropic and plans to return to frontier AI model research after a leadership role reporting directly to AMD CEO Lisa Su.

Zhou joined AMD in June 2025 alongside members of the Lamini startup team. She initially served as an AI vice president, working on AI research and related efforts.

AMD identified Zhou as AI chief of staff in 2026. Zhou said the expanded role put her in a direct reporting line to Su. She described her move to Anthropic as a return to frontier AI model research.
