Trump Signs Bill to End 43-Day U.S. Government Shutdown; Crypto Market Rebounds

President Donald Trump has officially signed a bill reopening the U.S. government after a record 43-day shutdown, following a 222-209 House vote in favor of the measure. The legislation restores pay for approximately 800,000 furloughed federal workers and resumes key public services. However, it excludes provisions for Affordable Care Act subsidies and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) protections.

Trump blamed Democrats for what he called “the Democrats’ shutdown,” citing severe disruptions nationwide. “They caused 20,000 flights to be cancelled or delayed,” Trump stated. “They deprived over 1 million government workers of their paychecks and cut off food stamp benefits for millions of Americans in need.”

Earlier this week, the Senate advanced the funding bill with a 60-40 vote after weeks of gridlock and 14 failed attempts to strike a deal. Bipartisan cooperation finally led to an agreement to end the longest government shutdown in U.S. history. White House Press Secretary Leavitt noted that the October CPI and jobs data might not be released due to the delay, referring to it as the “Schumer shutdown.” Financial Services GOP Chairman French Hill also issued a statement commending the resolution of the crisis.

Meanwhile, the cryptocurrency market reacted positively to the news. Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and XRP saw a notable rebound, pushing the total crypto market capitalization to around $3.45 trillion. Bitcoin reclaimed the $102,400 level, up over 1% in 24 hours, while Ethereum rose nearly 2% to $3,450. XRP surged about 4% to $2.44. Market analysts noted an increase in open interest and trading volume, particularly in out-of-the-money options, signaling growing investor speculation and volatility across digital assets.
