Trump Signs AI Document, Pushes ‘Super Intelligence’ Name

President Donald Trump signed an artificial intelligence (AI) document with technology executives Tuesday and said he was renaming the technology “super intelligence,” or SI.
Trump described the document as “morally binding” and said it was similar in some respects to a constitution.
Trump also said the administration was considering an oversight committee of about 10 people to monitor the industry’s development. The proposed panel would give the government a role in monitoring the industry’s development.
The terminology change is part of Trump’s broader position that the technology should be described as super intelligence rather than artificial intelligence. He has also opposed creating a new, dedicated regulatory framework for AI and rejected a global plan to control its development.
The document and proposed committee could affect future U.S. discussions involving technology and crypto infrastructure.
