Russia Extends Diesel Export Restrictions Through Oct. 31
The extension adds another month of limits as U.S. diesel prices remain above $6 per gallon.

Russia kept producer shipments of diesel, marine fuel and gasoil subject to export limits until Oct. 31, extending the measure for another month as fuel costs remain elevated in the United States.
The measure is aimed at keeping Russia’s internal fuel market stable while seasonal harvesting lifts demand for motor fuel.
Separate rules covering gasoline and the listed middle-distillate products remain scheduled to run until Jan. 31, 2027. The rules include different provisions for direct producers and other exporters.
The U.S. national average diesel price was $6.41 per gallon on Sept. 30. A separate weekly measure placed the average at $6.382 per gallon for the week of Sept. 28.
Tighter fuel supplies can raise transportation and agricultural costs and add to inflation pressure monitored by cryptocurrency markets. The latest producer restrictions run through Oct. 31, when Russia may revise them again.
