Stand With Crypto has endorsed candidates for the U.S. House and Senate ahead of the 2026 midterm elections, making crypto policy an issue in several key races as control of Congress could shape future digital-asset legislation.

The advocacy group backed Republican Jon Husted of Ohio, Republican Ashley Hinson of Iowa and Democrat Chris Pappas of New Hampshire for Senate seats. Its House endorsements include Republican Mariannette Miller-Meeks of Iowa and Democrat Shomari Figures of Alabama.

The endorsements follow the Sept. 15 failure of the Digital Asset Market Clarity (CLARITY) Act to advance in the Republican-controlled Senate. The market-structure bill passed the House with bipartisan support in 2025 but did not receive enough votes for a procedural motion in the Senate.

A change in control of either chamber could affect how lawmakers approach the legislation and broader digital-asset rules.

Stand With Crypto was launched by Coinbase in 2023 to promote what it described as clear regulations for the crypto industry. The group endorsed 32 House candidates in August and called them proven digital asset policy champions, pointing to the potential for the races to sway voters.

Husted is defending an Ohio Senate seat against Democrat Sherrod Brown.

Crypto-focused political spending has also increased ahead of the election. Fairshake, a political action committee backed largely by Coinbase, Ripple Labs and Andreessen Horowitz, pledged an initial $30 million to support Husted against Brown and spent $82 million on candidates across the country as of June.

Stand With Crypto warned of “consequences” for lawmakers who opposed the CLARITY Act after the Sept. 15 vote. The endorsements come as Democrats are favored in polls to regain control of the House and Senate in 2027, setting up congressional elections as a potential turning point for U.S. crypto policy.
