Hawaii Law Takes Effect, Barring Cash-to-Crypto ATM Transactions
House Bill 1642 bars kiosk operators from accepting U.S. currency in exchange for digital assets statewide.

Hawaii’s new crypto-ATM law took effect Oct. 1, stopping kiosk operators from accepting U.S. currency in exchange for digital assets across the state.
The measure, House Bill 1642, targets the cash-to-crypto function of digital financial asset transaction kiosks.
Cash-to-crypto transactions at the kiosks are no longer allowed under the measure.
The law was approved by Hawaii Gov. Josh Green in July.
